上午去Victoria University本来计划打球的，到体育馆一看居然有New Zealand Fencing Championship的比赛，把场子都占用了。拿出手机喀嚓了几张做纪念。。。需要指出的是其中一个裁判真是smoking hot!

刚发现firefox 8的默认地址栏搜索引擎已经变为bing了，很不爽，决定改回google。步骤如下：

1.在地址栏输入about:config

2.然后输入keyword.URL

3.把keyword.URL的值改为http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=

搞定！

如果想用其他搜索引擎的话keyword.URL的值可以自行对应修改。

上下午分别逛CANTERBURY 和TE KAHA 号, 在TE KAHA 上的时候还欣赏了飞行表演。人非常多，我们提前半小时到CANTERBURY开放前发现已经排长队了，下午参观TE KAHA更是排队站了差不多一个小时。因为时处Rugby World Cup比赛期间，下午很多球迷经过，造型奇特的球迷也算是一景啦。

10月1号是中国的国庆节，赶巧这一天也是新西兰海军成立70周年的纪念日。一共有十多艘新西兰皇家海军的舰艇周末停泊在惠灵顿港对公众开放。1号这天有朋友从Palmy过来，所以1号只参观了一艘小型的舰艇ROTOITI号，以及看看海军在Civic Square的检阅。2号天气虽然天气不大好但还是冒雨花了一整天参观了两艘大的TE KAHA 和 CANTERBURY号。

惠灵顿突然间下起了冰雹，很短时间内整个城市就白了。最大的冰雹大概有一厘米大，打在车窗上怪吓人的，大家都不约而同地减慢了车速。等我开到terrace的时候下得最密，加上terrace的坡太陡，大家不敢开都停在路边呆了十多分钟。。。冰雹太大了，俺实在不愿下车，拿手机在车里照了几张。

总督府 (Government House) 建于1910-1912年，是惠灵顿市的第三处总督官邸，占地面积12公顷。总督府既是总督举行正式仪式和社交活动的场所，也是总督及其家人的住宅。

这次Open days (9号和10号)是近四年来的首次对公众开放。开放时间是从10am到3pm, 但当我们9点30分到大门口的时候，已经有很多人在排队了。据说，因为参观的人太多，到下午1点多就不让人进去了。

March 12, 2011 Battle Hill Farm Forest Park

Battle Hill Farm Forest Park is on Paekakariki Hill Road, 6km from the intersection with SH58 at Pauatahanui. Some of the Park's farm areas are closed for lambing between August and October, but the main tracks remain open.

As its name suggests, the park was the site of one of the last battles between Maori and early colonial forces in the region. There are several loop walkways in the park and some are suitable for mountain biking and horse riding. You can find details of walking trails here.

I drove to Paekakariki Hill Lookout first and then made an U-turn back to the Battle Hill Farm Forest Park. I finished most of tracks there except Transmission Gully – Puketiro Loop track. I took some shots at Paekakariki Hill Lookout again in the afternoon after left the park. On the way back to Welly, I also walked around Pukerua Bay.

25号那天据说是自40年代有气温记录以来惠灵顿最寒冷的一天。好几个suburb甚至连CBD都有报告下雪。上面的照片是26号照的，惠灵顿周围山头上依然能看到雪。

Avira是一款以免费而且高效出名的杀毒软件，个人使用Avira已经有好几年了。可惜，今天不得不对它说Bye Bye啦。起因是Avira这两天老是自动提示安装“新功能”---Avira Searchfree Toolbar。这个Toolbar其实是是和臭名昭著的Ask公司合作的。最可恨的是Avira的提示只有“安装”和“稍后安装”两个选项而没有“不安装”！bad decision by Avira！

正在考虑删掉小红伞安装Microsoft Security Essentials 或者Avast。

一直想拍摄Wellington的夜景，不过前几个月新西兰是夏秋季节天黑得太晚，实在不想吃晚饭时间或者晚饭后开车上山。而冬季天黑得早，大概5点左右街灯就亮了。正好赶上今天风和日丽的，4点半出发去Mt. Victoria Lookout等天黑。。。

拍完回家觉得下次再拍的话还得带上三脚架。：-）

个人非常喜欢office 附带的看图软件 Microsoft Office Picture Manager (OPM) 。但有时用OPM打开照片变得非常慢。解决的办法是找到OIScatalog.cag文件并删除它。

1、找到文件 OIScatalog.cag 。路径为 % \ Documents and Settings\All Settings\ < YOUR_PROFILE > \Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\OIS% 中。找到 OIScatalog.cag 文件，删除它。( % 一般是C: , < YOUR_PROFILE > 就是你的用户名　）

在windows 7 中应该是：(默认windows 装在C盘)

C:\Users\< YOUR_PROFILE >\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OIS

注意：要先将系统目录隐藏去掉才能看到上面的目录。

2、然后寻找“MRU”目录。如果有就删除，没有就算了。OIS目录中保留thumbnails目录即可。

x220's 50Hz unplug issue

When the Thinkpad X220 is unplugged, the display refresh rate is uncontrollably switched to 50Hz from 60Hz.

The simple fix would be:

Open msconfig.exe and uncheck igfxpers.exe from starting under the 'startup' tab.

Then reboot.
